It’s a calm Monday afternoon, with no footy action on TV. So what better thing is there to do, then take a look at our players who are currently plying their trade in other colors. They’re not good enough to play for us this season, but they’re not bad enough to not play for us either. We have 5 players on loan so let us examine their time on the pitch. The goals they have scored, the yellow cards they have received and so on.
First up..

Pretty Please?
Review
This picture pretty much sums up the entire game for us. This match was as eventful as sand on a beach or in our case, snow on the ground. Yes, we were frozen by Rubin Kazan. We were allowed to play our football, but to no effect. Frankly, I am not surprised given that half of the teams that we play tend to park the bus and hit us on the counter, a tactic that was displayed multiple times. Always expect a coach who says that he’s going to attack against us to do the complete opposite, i.e. park the freaking bus! Some statements from our players really got to me. Xavi, for example, saying we were the better team is a little bit true but a team is not better based on the shots on target or the amount of possession. Win the game, you’re better, however, if you play the way we did and don’t get anything to show for it; you clearly were not the better side. I have put together several reasons which contributed to our draw (and previous draws as well).
- People who say Iniesta can play on the left wing better than Henry are mistaken because he is as effective as a flying pig (and pigs don’t fly
) - Keita playing in Iniesta’s position helps on the attack (goals wise) but he cannot contribute to play-making. Nothing, Nada, Zilch!
- We tried to avoid the same mistake Real Madrid did at the start of last season, but we didn’t . We got in 2 players when we should have gotten 3 or 4. Pedro and Iniesta cannot tire out defenders the way Henry does on the left flank. (Pedro maybe a little bit more than Iniesta, but still.) Robinho on the other hand can tire out defenders and then make room for Henry to come and make the killer pass or shot.
- Teams now know the way we play, so a draw for them is kinda the same thing as a win for them and a loss for us. We do not settle for draws, but it seems like half of the freakin’ continent would settle for a draw against us. So far Inter, Valencia and Osasuna did it, while Rubin Kazan beat us and paralyzed us.

The "Oscar" Winners.
How quickly a disappointing week can turn into a good one. We got our behinds handed to us with a Champions League defeat, we sent another team back home crying and if you think this was enough to turn the week around, you are mistaken.
We swept away everything before us last season (and so far this season.) We have 5 trophies to show for in our cabinet but yet the miniature trophies keep coming. That is without including Lionel’s inevitable trophy haul to come.

Well, that was some end to a week full of frustration (Barcelona-wise
) France Football has released a list of its 30 nominees for the prestigious Ballon D’Or and surprise surprise (ya right
) there are 6 current Barcelona players and 1 past Barcelona player who are on the list (Namely, one Samuel “Gimme My Money” Eto’o)
All that is left to say for this award is come to papa because if it eludes Messi, then I resign. ArgyWargy performed miraculous feats last season that are worthy of this award. Lets not forget about Xavi and Iniesta one of them have to be in the 2nd or 3rd place. Thong Boi shouldn’t be in the top 3, but oh well I leave it for you to discuss
.
